DeBabelizer is a uniquely powerful and versatile program that has processed millions of professional images worldwide over the last few years. The new version includes a wide array of user-requested enhancements, including a new interface design for simplified batch processing; the ability to batch-process Photoshop Acquires, Filters, and Exports plug-ins; image placement (for compositing); transparency selection for images being pasted or placed; and many others. In addition, DeBabelizer lets you organize System 7 picture icons into a separate folder all their own, creating a directory of images.
DeBabelizer cuts through the confusion of having to deal with multiple graphics file formats, providing the ability to maintain color integrity while reading, manipulating, processing, and saving graphics across formats, bit depths, and platforms. It automatically recognizes over 55 different bit-mapped graphics and animation formats from Macintosh, MS-DOS, Windows, Amiga, Apple II, Atari, Silicon Graphics, X Windows, and Sun computers. In addition, DeBabelizer's powerful batch processing and internal scripting features make it possible to easily automate the most difficult graphics translation tasks. DeBabelizer strongly complements all drawing or image-processing programs in current use.
Thousands of multimedia developers, service bureaus, desktop publishers, graphic designers, and video professionals have already found DeBabelizer an invaluable tool, thanks to its ability to batch process animation files across platforms; its unrivaled 24-bit color to 8-bit color reduction (with no significant loss of color integrity or image quality); and Super Palette, a tool which automatically creates the ideal palette for a specified series of images. Video professionals also benefit from DeBabelizer’s support for Abekas digital video output, making it possible to transfer graphics and animations, frame by frame, into the Abekas for further manipulation.
DeBabelizer version 1.6 also comes with a comprehensive manual and Real World DeBabelizing, a collection of user anecdotes, tips, and information written by David Biedny, co-author of The Official Adobe Photoshop Handbook.

DeBabelizer requires a Macintosh with at least 700K of free memory and System 6.0.7 or greater. It is System 7 compatible and 32 bit clean. It will process color images without Color QuickDraw ™ and without System 7 on black and white Macs (Plus, SE, Classic, etc.). This permits them to be put to use as graphics processing stations.
